Having been involved in photography from an early age, (it was my favourite subject during school) I then took further studies at evening class. I was in the printing trade for 27 years, with a global media asset management company and was involved in setting up and running a photographic studio during the later years of my employment with them. During this time my passion for photography led me into social photography.
With 9 years experience shooting wedding in all of the top North East venues, I still have the passion and the emotion that first sent me on his journey into wedding photography.
At the start of 2006, I opened a studio in The Biscuit Factory, within walking distance from the centre of Newcastle. This has been a very successful location for me, and I am keen to develop all areas of my work, while maintaining a steady focus on customer satisfaction.
I am a qualified member of MPA, The Master Photographers Association, being a Licentiate member for 6 years. This entitled me to enter the annual awards competition, (which is only entered by full time professional photographers). In my first year of entering, I was successful in winning “North East Licentiate Wedding Photographer of the Year” back in 2007.
The follows years brought more success
MPA – 2007 North East Licentiate – Wedding Photographer of the year – Winner
MPA – 2008 North East Licentiate – Portrait Photographer of the year – Winner
MPA – 2008 North East – Contemporary Portrait Photographer of the year – Winner

MPA – 2010 North East Portrait – Award of Excellence

These awards are a great achievement for me, and is validation to my creative technique and passion for my job, although you can’t call your passion a job can you.
